So, there is much more reason to believe Smith than to disbelieve him ... particularly when one a actually does as the Bible instructs.

@kmbecker25 @Rach_the_Rivetr Preparation has always been a part of the temple experience, and agency is a pivotal part of the gospel. Hearing of specific temple covenants for the first time in the temple undermines agency and intentionality.

@kmbecker25 @Rach_the_Rivetr These covenants are major, serious, lifetime commitments. There is nothing gained by being surprised by or ill-prepared for them. Every person going into the temple should do so knowing, in advance, the covenants they will make.

@grunk876 One needn't be a worthy Latter-Day Saint to be a worthy parent. The church's current policy on weddings and sealings recognizes this and I'm grateful for it.

@grunk876 While much is required to be worthy of the temple, loving parents who have raised a child are quite worthy to see their child get married. Many families felt hurt or left-out over the years, and flippant responses (such as the one above) rubbed salt in wounds. Needlessly.
