43-Year-Old Foreign National Arrested After Allegedly Altering SA Identity Documents to Assist Zama-Zamas
A 43-year-old foreign national has been arrested after police allegedly found him altering and editing details on a Green Republic of South Africa identity document at an internet café in Bloemfontein. The suspect was found on Monday, 7 September 2026, during routine crime prevention operations conducted as part of Operation Shanela II.
Members of the Parkweg Crime Prevention Unit were visiting areas of concern and identified crime hotspots when they went to an internet café at the corner of Henry and West Burger Streets. The Old Market Complex has previously been frequented by fraud suspects. The man was allegedly busy altering an identity document but initially could not explain his actions.
A search of his black backpack allegedly uncovered identity documents bearing different details, passports, birth and death certificates, smart cards altered by pasting falsified pages, and proof-of-birth documents representing both the Republic of South Africa and the Kingdom of Lesotho. Police also found pro-forma affidavits that had already been stamped without being completed by a police official.
The operation was joined by a Department of Home Affairs Counter-Corruption official, with a search conducted at Phomolong Informal Settlement. Confidential DNA documents, documents bearing the Coat of Arms, bank statements and SASSA affidavits were found and processed by Local Criminal Record Centre personnel. The suspect allegedly told officers he was helping his zama-zama brothers. A case docket was opened at Parkweg SAPS for fraud, altering and tampering with legal documents, possession of suspected stolen property and contravention of the Immigration Act. He is expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate Court soon.

Madlanga Commission Advocate Sandile Khumalo Targeted In Chilling Threats As Family Members Are Dragged Into Escalating Intimidation Campaign
Advocate Sandile Khumalo SC, who has been involved in the Madlanga Commission, has been targeted in an escalating intimidation campaign involving threats against him, Advocates for Transformation (AFT) National Chairperson Advocate Myron Dewrance SC, and members of Dewrance’s family and friends.
AFT says threatening messages were sent from multiple cellphone numbers and repeatedly named Khumalo and Dewrance while invoking AFT. Some messages allegedly claimed the senders knew the locations, workplaces or movements of those targeted. The organisation says the threats have escalated to explicit threats of sexual violence against women.
AFT believes the intimidation may be linked to disciplinary proceedings involving a member of the Johannesburg Society of Advocates who was charged with serious professional misconduct. Khumalo was chairperson of the JSA’s Professional Committee and served on its Bar Council after being nominated by AFT. Some messages allegedly blamed Khumalo and told Dewrance and family members to “blame Sandile”.
AFT stressed that its enquiries remain preliminary and that it has not identified those behind the messages or accused the JSA, the advocate facing disciplinary proceedings, or any other individual of responsibility. The organisation says justice actors must work without fear of retaliation and will take lawful steps to protect those affected and ensure those responsible are held accountable.

Bathi Floyd Shivambu didn't have money to campaign for elections so he went to a cash-in transit kingpin to stand as a mayoral candidate for ekurhuleni. He trusted an ex-con to to raise $.
Floyd's decisions are always flawed.

An old video of Gayton McKenzie has resurfaced in which he admitted that he, Kenny Kunene and Julius Malema are not the right people to govern the country.
The resurfaced remarks have sparked a new debate over whether McKenzie was being honest about himself and his friends at the time, or whether he was simply too politically young to foresee how his views would later evolve.
The ANC is going to the electoral court to argue that loading candidate names is the same as "submitting" them. 🤭
I hope they win. I will use it for SARS.
"Commissioner, I loaded my tax return, but I didnt submit it, I didnt like what I saw, it's your broken system. Fix it."
44 parties managed to hit submit on time, but the governing party wants the Electoral Court to rewrite election laws because their staff got timed out. You want voters to trust you with the national grid, but standard cybersecurity protocols are an insurmountable barrier? Please!😏
