In Germany and Israel, publicly displaying Nazi memorabilia or doing anything that can be interpreted as glorifying Adolf Hitler or Nazism can, and will earn you time in prison. We all know why.
Yet in South Africa, a descendant of Dutch colonisers can put up statues of Hendrik Verwoerd and Jan Van Riebeeck - people whose legacies for 89% of South Africa's population are equivalent to, or even greater than that of Hitler - and NOTHING will happen to him.
He'll tell you "It's my history and I'm proud of my heritage." To add insult to injury, he'll even tell you that the statues are on "private property" so you have no right to complain. The context being that the said "private property" was stolen from the people those men massacred, by a "government" they created for sole purpose of stealing and monopolising the entire economic output of South Africa, before it was "sold" to Proud Heritage guy who paid for it with his bundles of Apartheid bucks.
Africa is weak right now, which is why a lot of these insults can continue. All of these things will be revisited in due course. It's a matter of time.
Toilets are a place for protection
By creating a barrier between us and our waste, sanitation is essential for public and environmental health.
But when toilet systems are inadequate, damaged or broken, pollution spreads and deadly
diseases get unleashed.
#WorldToiletDay 🚽
On this #WorldToiletDay we recognise toilets as places for peace. It protects everyone’s dignity and especially transforms the lives of women and girls.
More investment and better governance of sanitation are critical for a fairer, more peaceful world.

Your thoughts on this
I have contested previous bills in writing as instructed by @NERCNG and communicated my grievance to @aedcelectricity which is why I am currently a target.
The arbitrary billing of unmetered customers is a major concern and I continue to seek redress. @fccpcnigeria
In an attempt to discourage Customer Complaints and take advantage of the unsuspecting, this letter was attached to the bill.
After receiving my payment for meter and failing to deliver. @fccpcnigeria@NERCNG
But perhaps it was an error seeing as the letter isn't addressed.
@aedcelectricity is victimising me.
Last Month I struggled to clear a backlog of estimated bills and paid for my Mojec Meter. This month I have been issued a bill for ₦180,000.
I will continue to contest this wicked treatment. @NERC@fccpcnigeria@myfctagov
I have been singled out by @aedcelectricity Garki Cluster and despite paying and even clearing previous bills. Some months I receive bills indicating Tarrif Band B Non MD, and recently I am seeing Band A.
METERING
Even though I have no proof of it, I know I am not the only @aedcelectricity customer who has experienced delays in receiving meter after payment only to be billed outrageously for one Cycle.
The wayo is too much. I did not consume
₦180,000 electricity in August.
