1) LLMs are created by scraping all the art and writing off the internet without creator’s compensation or consent, allowing companies to make billions of stolen labor

2) This tech allows companies to then fire the very employees whose work they stole. It’s like taking your blood and using it to power your robot replacement

3) The resulting auto-generated plagiarism slurry can be extremely realistic, allowing companies, governments, scammers etc to create an infinite deluge of propaganda, fake evidence, scams, revenge porn, and addictive meaningless slop flooding our eyes from cradle to grave, a kind of reality-obliterating internet pollution at a scale beyond human comprehension.

4) That’s not even counting the massive electricity drain of the server farms that are gobbling up land and the impending economic crash when the so called “abundance” promised by Silicon Valley vultures never meets their impossible promises.

LLMs are to societal trust what toxic runoff is to drinking water. And just like the pollution that comes from Exxon Mobile, this disaster is only possible when the government abdicates its regulatory responsibility because it’s been bought off by the CEOs responsible

TLDR:

CONS: Mass unemployment, the death of reality, a permanent underclass addicted to a digital meth slot machine

❌ MYTH: banning DomoAI from your server will stop the application from being used.
❌ MYTH: all the images in my Discord are being fed to GenAI, and I need to delete everything now.
✔️ TRUTH: you can disable /slash commands in your server which the bot needs to run (pic below).

Banning the user ID will do nothing as it is an internal application in the App Directory, not a user or typical bot like Carl bot.

Preventatives you can do:
🟢 Glaze your art
🟢 Turn off application permissions (/slash commands) by going into roles > everyone > application
🟢 Educate others on why GenAI is harmful

This won't stop people from using the bot in other servers or seeking out ways to use GenAI. FYI even when it is being used, it shows as a "only you can see this" just like other bots, so you won't be able to keep track of who is using it.

The “bot” is an app that needs permissions just like every other app, and will not collect data off your server, only images you directly upload into the application.

You can’t exactly disable it from your Discord client. However, you can take off "Use Application Commands" permissions so that no /slash commands are available, including DomoAI command.

To restate, that won't stop users from using the app in any other server and taking your art there. You can see that as an admin, I can still use the app even though the user ID is banned. (I used the image resizer prompt like ezgif, not the GenAI art prompt, then opted out.)
