Wattpad's usual recommendations now and before is just bland, generic and uninteresting in my opinion. Its why I don't bother to browse their front page anymore, just full on bias and negligence on their part. Not caring about the authors at all. The app just gets worse overtime.
I used to read a lot of wattpad stories a few years ago. From fanfictions, self inserts, oneshots and original works. Now that I start to look back on it, it's starting to dawn upon me that the stories I used to read is no longer available in the website, wattpad deleted them. :(
I've known about AO3 before, however the account creation process was such a wait. Wattpad was more accessible* and you could just post stories there, although I don't like that they just delete your stories without consent and not even giving you a copy of your own work.
Some people were actually quite nice and cool.
They were all very interesting. So, in the end I got to learn a lot more about social stuffs, and I'm grateful for that.
But I think it's time for me to move on into other things, something that's maybe worth my time and attention.
I'm not content being in that kind of community anymore. And I'm not sure its all gonna create what they intend to create, but I am not gonna fight for a parking space in it.
I wouldn't want to be with a control freak behind the scenes and be faced with extra prejudice and bias.
