Take my options strategies by the Greeks cheat sheet ... then:
Ask two questions:
1) What strategy for SPX best fits the current market?
2) In the VIX order book, are any desks putting on a big trade?
Answers:
1) SPX Sep 7800/8000 call backspread, 1×2, ~$38 credit.
2) VIX Nov 18/27 call spread, 2×1, ~1,100 on (8/17 flow, debit).
Why?
1) SPX Sep ATM ~12.3 (cheap vega to own), a nearly-flat call skew (sell 12.0, buy 11.4 — the credit). The trade is +vega/+vomma/+vanna/+gamma bullish, all convexity pointed up, done for a credit, pinned at 8000 expecting a slow grind; crash/chop/rip all keep the credit or better. The case is strengthened by Sep options chain data.
2) A desk that is betting on a contained vol regime shift, likely the Oct 27–28 / Dec 8–9 FOMC window, and financing it by writing the crash scenario.
The most honest candle on your chart is the one that lied.
It breaks the high, sweeps the stops — and closes red. Buyers trapped. What follows is usually not a breakout. It's a reversal.
‼️Meet STRAT Trap & VWAP Engine — my new FREE TradingView indicator that hunts exactly these candles and turns them into fully managed trade plans.
🎯 What you get:
🪤 Trap Bar entries — red 2U → SHORT, green 2D → LONG. Entry, structural stop beyond the sweep extreme, three R-multiple targets. Auto break-even after TP1.
🌊 PVTE Regime Filter (on by default) — a two-threshold hysteresis engine that only lets you fade traps with the trend. No more catching knives in chop.
⚓️ Pivot-anchored VWAP — restarts at every confirmed swing inside the trend leg. See where the volume-weighted crowd actually sits — not a stale session average.
🔢 Full STRAT engine — every bar auto-classified 1/2U/2D/3, 8 core patterns + Extended set, trigger levels drawn for you. Turn the trade engine off and it becomes a pure STRAT trainer for beginners.
📶 FTC strip — full timeframe continuity from 15m to Quarterly in one glance.
🤖 Bot-grade webhooks — JSON payloads for every event (entries, TPs, BE, stop-outs), one alert covers everything, five mute toggles.
⚠️ Honest section, as always:
— Intrabar model is optimistic (TP priority when SL+TP share a bar) — disclosed in the tooltips, not hidden
— Session stats reset on reload. They are NOT a backtest
— Trap entries without the regime filter will fade every wiggle — keep the filter on
— The FTC strip reads forming higher-TF candles by design (continuity is live state)
✅ No repainting of signals. Everything fires on confirmed close.
✅ Free. Full methodology in the description — every formula, every threshold.
The STRAT methodology by Rob Smith. Clean-room implementation by us.

Why Qullamaggie Looks at ADR% First
And How I Use It?
Before Qullamaggie checks the setup, sector etc.
he checks one basic number: ADR%.
Because if a stock cannot move, nothing else matters.
The cleanest setup in the world is useless if the stock is dead.
What is ADR%?
ADR% simply tells you how much a stock normally moves in a day.
Imagine a stock has a 20-day ADR% of 5.
That means, on average, this stock has been moving around 5% per day over the last 20 days.
Now here is how I understand and Trade it.
Simple rule:
ADR% above 5 → good for swing trading
ADR% between 3–5 → okay only if market/sector is strong
ADR% below 3 → usually too slow for swing trading
so, let's say today, while scanning, I find the stock that has ADR% of 5% & has
-Strong Prior Uptrend of 40%+
-Now Pulling back to 21 DEMA
-Last 3-4 days it formed very tight range
-and today it moved only 0.07% with NR5
That is not just a quiet day. This is like a spring getting compressed.
and this is exactly where big traders start paying attention
A 0.7% candle on a stock that normally moves 5% means volatility has collapsed.
Almost soon, expansion will come back.
How to Include it in trading Plan:
Find stocks with High ADR% as a pre-trade filter.
Anything below your threshold drops off immediately & saves hours of chart review on stocks that can't pay you.
Then keep it simple:
Buy only if price breaks above the tight range high.
Your stop should be tight because the whole edge comes from entering when volatility is compressed.
That is the real game.

📈Daily Candle Range - *FREE * Trading View Indicator
I coded my own Daily Candle Range (DCR) percentage indicator for TradingView.
Not sure if it qualifies as a "good one" but happy to share it - the code is below 👇
//@version=6
indicator("SJ DCR", overlay=true)
// Fetch daily High and Low data
dailyHigh = https://t.co/fjA5pU8AK3(syminfo.tickerid, "D", high)
dailyLow = https://t.co/fjA5pU8AK3(syminfo.tickerid, "D", low)
// Calculate the percentage of current price within that range
dailyRange = dailyHigh - dailyLow
dcrPct = dailyRange != 0 ? 100 * (close - dailyLow) / dailyRange : na
// Variable to store the label
var label dcrLabel = na
// Only update and show on the last (current) bar
if barstate.islast
label.delete(dcrLabel) // Keep only the most recent label
// Original text format: just the percentage
label_text = str.tostring(dcrPct, "#.#") + "%"
// Positioning based on original script (slightly above current high)
labelPositionY = high + (dailyHigh - dailyLow) * 0.05
dcrLabel := https://t.co/rFJXzDFhES(bar_index, labelPositionY, label_text,

Open Interest tells you positions are opening. But open Interest Delta tells you who is opening them.
Here's the metric almost nobody tracks. Bookmark this and you can save yourself from fake breakouts.
Open Interest Delta = Change in OI + Price direction
1- OI rising + Price rising = New longs entering (Bullish Continuation)
2- OI rising + Price falling = New shorts entering (Bearish Continuation)
3- OI falling + Price rising = Shorts covering (Short Squeeze, No Real Demand)
4- OI falling + Price falling = Longs closing (Long Liquidation, No Real Selling)
The secret that most people miss is that OI falling during a pump means it's a short squeeze, not new buying. These moves reverse fast because there's no new capital entering the market, just forced covering.
For example, if BTC pumps 5% in 2 hours, everyone would think it is bullish. But if you check OI and it has dropped 10% then that's not new longs entering the market. That's shorts being liquidated. Once covering finishes and there are no buyers left, price will start dumping, retracing the whole move.
Now lets say that BTC dumps 5% with OI dropping. That's longs being liquidated, not real selling. Once liquidations finish, price will bounce because there's no real selling pressure.
You can use Coinglass Open Interest chart to compare OI change to price change on the same timeframe. Most people see a 5% pump and buy. Smart money checks OI first. If OI is falling, they will fade the move.
