Finance Bill 2026.
Out of 347 MPs, only 162 showed up to vote on one of the most consequential pieces of legislation affecting millions of Kenyans.
122 voted YES
40 voted NO
185 MPs were absent
If only 162 MPs can determine the future of the country's finances, then Kenyans have every right to ask:
Why are taxpayers funding 347 MPs when nearly half the House is missing during critical national decisions? 🇰🇪
Kalonzo Musyoka has about 2.5 million votes behind him.
Rigathi Gachagua and Martha Karua are looking at nearly 6 million votes across Central Kenya.
George Natembeya, Eugene Wamalwa, and Edwin Sifuna command influence in a region with roughly 5 million votes, while Fred Matiang'i has about 1.2 million votes behind him.
Even if you were Ruto, how would you sleep knowing that the numbers appear to be stacked against you?
What is even more significant is that these communities both large and small share one common position: they believe Ruto must go.
@ntvkenya We'll never transform this country if our national TV stations keep giving prime airtime to tree huggers instead of innovators and builders like the people above.
