The footage filmed in Redmond, King County Washington shows the man called Björn, skating along a pavement before being stopped by two female cops on bicycles.

He is then told to 'step away from the board' and is is grabbed by the two officers. As they detain Björn one of them tells him that he 'jaywalked' while another turns to a crowd which had gathered and told them: 'When we tell you to stop, you stop. That is called obstructing everybody - learn'.

Björn was arrested for Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer after cop's alleged he failed to stop when they tried to reprimand him when they spotted him jaywalking.

His angry family say he was jailed for 24-hours and have set up a GoFundMe page to raise cash to get him an attorney.

Erica Jones, Björn's sister stated on the page: 'He spent 24 hours in jail in Des Moines and wasn't able to reach his family! The cops also REMOVED all the money from his wallet, which was $532 because he 'looked suspicious!

'He was skateboarding and couldn't hear one of the female bike cops say 'stop'. 'He had no idea he did anything wrong at all. He crossed the short road, not even the main street, by the skate park instead of going up to the light and coming back down. Absolutely everyone does this, hundreds of times a day. This day they singled him out, truly for being a person of color, and he didn't resist whatsoever, his hands were to his side and he was completely taken back by this arrest.'
