Most of my tweets are me being devil’s advocate. Just trying to express my thoughts on another side of the story. Mostly optimistic with a touch of reality.
@DKostanjsak Not to forget Deco’s has brought in a few players for the youth team to play LB. Highly rated Josue Caicedo has also just arrived and he also signed a couple players last January & Salinas has also been heavily monitored.
@DKostanjsak He is a good player with a lot of potential and I am really fond of him. But at the end of the day, Deco’s job is to improve the overall strength of the squad. If selling Balde means getting Lukeba/ Schlotterbeck isn’t it worth a thought?
@lezico8 Caicedo has arrived recently and Salinas has also been monitored. Deco also brought in a few players for the youth team in the last window who did well as a LB. Jordi Pesquer has also done well this Preseason. So, it all depends on Balde and the offer we can get for him.
@lezico8 If Cancelo is the preferred option for Flick, then I would definitely sell him for the right price. Especially since we need the funds for the 9 & CB. Can’t afford to have a 70/80m player on the bench rarely playing.
@DKostanjsak Tbf, Julian Alvarez is worth around 150-180m in this market. If there isn’t any clause that allows him to leave then we are just wasting our time.
With how ugly this deal has got, there is no way we’re getting him otherwise.
150m bid at the start of the window could have worked
@BouafifNour Just a few days ago his reported asking price was 130m.
How come PSG, a club known for making negotiations hard for letting players go suddenly accept 50m?
They themselves signed him for 45m, 3 yrs ago.
@GunnerPuls It depends on who is the manager & what type of football they want to play.
If you want a well balanced midfield that will give you goals & assists while being technically unbeatable but also can press like mad dogs,
it will be very hard to compete against Pedri/Rodri/Fermin
@kevvwill The way I see it, adding Anthony Gordon & Julian Alvarez is actually improving our defense rather than our attack. The attack that we had was already good enough to break down any team in the world Alvarez & Gordon is about defending from the front, winning the ball high up pitch
@RTorp14@barca1899stats For Jr. Kroupi you are paying for potential. A club will pay 100m for potential only if they believe he is capable of being a Ballon D’Or winner in the near future.
For Alvarez you are paying for what he already is. He is a tailor made player for Hanis Flick.
@barca1899stats The player or the experience isn’t the problem but it’s the fees.
100m is a ridiculous amount of money. He has the potential to be become a star but we have seen many players fade away after a single season. Maybe he if he had like 25+ goals contributions, you could consider it.
@Jon_Snow_0008 There are only like 6-7 wingers who have 30+ G/A in top 5 European leagues. Since we already have Yamal & Raphinha contributing those types of numbers, I highly doubt Gordon will get enough chances to reach those numbers in his first season
@Jon_Snow_0008 Nah, that’s too high. 20+ G/A will be good enough. I know we spent a lot of money but I highly doubt he will exceed that without penalties/ free kicks. He will improve the overall attack but it will take time for him to adapt. His actions will allow his teammates to score more
@DKostanjsak@anthonygordon I would genuinely love to know who is your pick for our next striker?
Because I just read Julian Alvarez isn’t your favorite option.
It has just been a few days since we discovered that Barca can afford to spend 100m+ so does that change your pick?
@barca1899stats If we end up selling Kounde, I think Eric becomes our starting RB. Araujo, Xavi Espart and returning Hector Fort also being options & also Andre Ratiu also linked with us. While Cancelo will probably be signed permanently as well.
@ReshadRahman Give me some hope for Gvardiol. That will change our lives for years to come.
Imagining Cubarsi-Gvardiol potential partnership has increased my dopamine level to max.
@mr_amanfo Triggering such clauses require you to make the payment in one lump sum. Barca have got the money but not the necessary FFP space. Even if Barca end up spending 100m+20m add-ons on 5 years deal they only need 20m+ 12m salary space. The clause requires 75m+ 12m space.
@Og_papil0 With all the signings we want to make, there will be some painful departures.
Especially in midfield because that’s the only area we have a few players that can bring in a large sum of money.
Bernardo is an excellent market opportunity as he is versatile and suits our style
