The Priestess was dizzy.
This world was so much bigger than she anticipated, so many lives and stories to learn from, much different from the sterility of the laboratory, the emptiness of space, or that last pair of warm hands she held before drifting off to hypersleep.
She did her best to assist these people she was working with, new people occupying the former research starship Rhodes Island. All these ears and scaly tails and hair feather she couldn't resist reaching out to touch, much to the chagrin of the victims.
But they were all nice and forgiving in the end- flustered even- to see such a pair of bright eyes, soft cheeks and burning lips turning back their reflections. The ease with which they forgave her made it easy to cope with the fact that she wasn't the best of tacticians.
Clumsy, impulsive, and wasteful, prone to the most excessive, overwhelming of methods to ensure a victory and lacking any subtlety at all, the Priestess was nevertheless a daunting foe on the battlefield for the victories she handed Rhodes Island and the grand vision she bore for the people who swore their allegiance to her. Of course, it also helped that she was the only person in all of Terra who could control and manipulate Originium, feeding her battlefield information, predictive analytics, and physiological telemetry, information most armies would die to have.
But the dreams never stopped for her. Every day that she bent the Originium to her will the figure appears in a haze. In her waking life, hidden between the crowd, arching across the darkened hall was a shadow she can't quite make out, a face and eyes she could barely remember spending time with alongside an affection that left a dull pain on her chest as if it were punishment for not remembering.
One day, the Priestess caught onto something. The achievement rendered her dizzy once more, a false step causing her to fall into Amiya's arms. She gazed at her left foot, having loosened a shoe, then up at Amiya's worried eyes. She opened her mouth to say something, but could only grasp at an interrogative, the rest of her thoughts in puzzlement at where she could have received it:
"Who is... the Doctor?"
I want every single @ManCity fan to know I am here; more than ever. I am, always have been, always will, be behind my club, my owner, my chairman, Ferran, the players, staff, Enzo and you, our unique supporters.
Let me be clear: we will get through this together.
I love you all 🩵
I have been saddened to hear of the passing of the great Liu Huan, who I had the pleasure of singing with at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, performing the opening theme song, ‘You and Me’.
He was an amazing talent and a true gentleman. He will be greatly missed.
R.I.P.
