This reminds me of Beyonce saying no one wants to practice because they don’t want to feel awkward. Worried about what other people will say, so you never start or try anything. Dance gets in the body and it takes time and repetition. What courage as an 11-year-old. 💕
I love that the first of the month is tomorrow, a Sunday.
Wake with the sun, clean your space, cleanse your space + then set intentions for the month on abundance, love + your life.
Move slow, intentional and spend some time stretching too!
sometimes you have to choose the commitments you’ve made to yourself over the excuses that make you feel better in the moment. sometimes you have to remember that you’re better than the narrative that your anxiety is creating in your head. sometimes you have to do it scared.
Coco Gauff on what she’d tell 8 year old Coco from the video on Arthur Ashe:
“That little girl, she had the dream. But I don’t know if she fully believed it. As a kid, you have so many dreams. As you get older, sometimes it can fiddle away. I’d tell her ‘don’t lose that dream.’ As you can see in the video, I loved being on Ashe. Whether it was in a crowd or on the court. I’d tell her keep working hard, keep believing in that dream, & don’t let the doubters diminish that.” 🥹
@Black9jaIcon You’re right. And their physical performance demands aren’t comparable, you’re correct. But it’s the tools used for the emotional/mental and draining demands of being on tour and performing day after day that I want to know about.
