Remembering today: the crew of Hampden AT192 (455 Sqdn). They were killed on 11 March 1942 on ops to Essen. All four crew members are buried in the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery.

Aircraftman Laurence Bruce Hughson of Lerwick served with RAF 149 Squadron. The Vickers Wellington in which he flew crash-landed after taking off for a leaflet dropping mission to Bremen, March 2nd, 1940 from RAF Mildenhall. He was returned home to Lerwick, where he rests. @CWGC
Remembering today: the crew of Halifax JB801 (No.78 Squadron). The aircraft was shot down over Holland on the night of 13/14 July 1943. All seven crew members were killed.

Sgt Edward Smithson 9 Sqn, Edward took off from RAF Waddington as part of crew onboard a Lancaster bomber on a night raid over Berlin, the aircraft crashed on return nr. Heighington, Lincoln. Edward is remembered at the IBCC on panel 99
@TheTorontoSun@joe_warmington Hm. My dad was a navigator in Bomber Command. RAF(V) 1939-1945. 32 missions with RCAF 431 Squadron. Ended his war in India, flying the Hump. He would have been 96 in November. He is legendary to me.
