The Knights finish 93rd overall and 19th in Division 4A at the IHSA Chess State Finals with 3 wins out of 7. We end a lively year on a 12-12 record with Ethan Vanderkolk, Ian Wan, and Sayana Bilguun scoring 100+ points this season.

The Auburn Knights place 6th at the IHSA Chess Kaneland Sectional on a 3.0/4 score! Ethan Vanderkolk went undefeated on Board 1 with a 3.5/4 record. Ian Wan and Sayana Bilguun, Boards 2 and 3, scored 3.0/4. This team is going to State!

Auburn sweeps Guilford 68-0 in Round 1 of the 2022 IHSA Kaneland Sectional! The team only needs one more win to qualify for State! Three more rounds to go.

The IHSA State Chess Team Sectionals will take place Saturday, January 29th, 2022. Cheer on our Knights in two weeks as they face some of the top teams in the Illinois region and try to qualify for the State Finals!

At the 2022 NICL Conference Tournament, the Knights finished 7th, posting a 2.0/4 score against the likes of Woodstock (Marian), Cary (C.-Grove), Huntley (H.S.), and Rockford (Guilford). Andrew Maier placed 2nd (!) on Board 8 and Ethan Vanderkolk placed 1st (!!) on Board 1.

Chess is back at Auburn! After a one-year hiatus, the team finished the regular season 3-2 in Conference. Ian Wan on Board 2 led the team for most points scored (22) at the Palatine Team Tournament. Be sure to cheer on our Knights as they compete for the NICL trophy on Jan. 15th!

Rockford Auburn's Chess Team breaks the 3.0 curse by winning 4 out of 7 matches at the 2020 IHSA Chess State Finals! The team finished 33rd out of 127 teams w/tiebreaks and end the season with a respectable 24-9 record, outscoring opponents 1498.5 to 745.5.

Knights go 3-1 at Palatine Sectionals (#4/20), moving their overall record to 20-6, and qualifying for the State Finals held at the Peoria Civic Center in two weeks time. Make sure to cheer this team on as they look to challenge near the top in a few weeks! Go Knights!

Yesterday, the Knights headed to Freeport to mount a challenge for the NICL Conference title and they fought hard for a 2nd place finish. Congratulations to Vincent Do, Sengdao Inthavong, Ethan Vanderkolk, and Isaiah Taylor for medaling on their boards! To Sectionals at Palatine!

The Knights end their regular season perfect in the Northern Illinois Chess League West Division with a 6-0 record and head to the Conference Tournament as the #1 seeded team. Amazing work, Knights! This weekend, the team heads to Palatine to tackle some top talents. @Auburn_AD
