Long writing days on our upcoming book about the 2025 4-Day War between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Our (me and @LiamSCollins ) research is grounded in primary sources, including interviews with India's Chief of the Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi; Deputy Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti; Director General Naval Operations, Vice Admiral A. N. Pramod; and many other senior military leaders and commanders. Both Indian and Pakistani sources. It also includes field research at key locations such as Pahalgam and along the Line of Control. Operation Sindoor was far more than a limited military exchange. It marked a significant shift in the region's strategic paradigm. The conflict raised important questions about responses to cross-border terrorism, the possibility of military confrontation below the nuclear threshold between nuclear-armed states, the evolution of Indian military capabilities, the implications for assessments of Chinese military power, narrative warfare, deterrence, escalation management, and much more. For now, more research/travel and writing. More to follow.
