Met the dedicated team @RAMFELCharity. Based in Stratford they’re changing lives in East London, helping with immigration and asylum advice
With legal aid under pressure, charities like this are a vital source of support. Their legal work is rooted in compassion and humanity 👏🏾
Help us reach our target of raising £500 this Ramadan! 🤲 This month, a period of generosity and compassion for many, we invite you-regardless of faith-to stand with refugees, asylum seekers & migrants who are struggling under the UK’s hostile environment.

5/ Thank you to everyone who signed and shared our petition. We promise to keep pushing to ensure the government ends hotel accommodation for good and provides dignified housing for asylum seekers!!
1/ Yesterday, we delivered our petition to No. 10 Downing Street and Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, calling for an end to using hotels as asylum accommodation. With over 500 signatures, it’s clear: the system is failing families, and urgent change is needed. #ProtectAsylumSeekers
4/ While some hotel closures were announced by the Home Sec, this must go further. The 2026 contractual break is a chance to replace hotels with community-based solutions: local housing that’s cost-effective and stable.
Our client has lived in the UK for 37+ years. The Home Office denied her private life app, claiming a 4year gap in objective evidence—despite written testimony proving her presence. RAMFEL appealed& a judge ruled in 1 day in her favour. Justice served, but what a waste of time?🙄
Big smiles in the office today as Layla had her first win! She got a young boy British citizenship, and his mum came to collect his certificate! Help us celebrate by liking this post 🥳

7 days into 2025 and we have our first grant of indefinite leave to remain. This client has lived in the UK since the age of 1 and now finally has secure and permanent immigration status.
No more expensive visa renewals and anxious waiting times.

“So many people being unable to prove their status will see many wrongly suspended from work, denied disability benefits & prevented from accessing essential services."

Some excellent holiday news.
Our 16yr old client has been given indefinite leave to remain. He's lived in the UK since age 2 & this country is all he knows.
Despite this, it cost him nearly £3K to secure permanent immigration status.
Now though his future is secure.
Labour has announced plans to close safe pathways to the UK for Afghans fleeing Taliban rule. The reason being to ‘ensure value for money for the taxpayer’.
Human lives must ALWAYS come before cost saving.
