🕒 2:56:01 at the Boston (Lincolnshire) marathon!
✅ Knocked over a minute off my PB
🚜 Flat, fast course mainly in the countryside around Boston
🧵It’s taken a while to get my #marathon approach right again, here’s the ups & downs ⬇️

@StuGoulden@wingchun_dave@UKRunChat This is pre- and post-run at the Manchester to Liverpool 50mile ultra. Reminded me of my early days of running when I wasn’t going for time, just aiming to cover a distance. Miles 30-40 were the toughest, after that I knew I could make it even if I just walked #ukrunchat
@StuGoulden@UKRunChat Would love to do the big 6 marathons one day. I’ve managed to do 1 so far (London) - would aim to to do Berlin next but haven’t had luck in the ballot #ukrunchat
@RebeccaLeek_ The book Invisible Women might have some good examples, there’s a few examples covered here although a bit more around design: https://t.co/gO2HpdYMts
@ro_jito @UKRunChat Congratulations on the big 💯! Very impressed by what you have done and pleased to say I was there at a couple of the same runs: London 2020, 23 and M2L, the latter two being some of my favourite runs #ukrunchat
@ro_jito @UKRunChat My in-laws live in Bonn, Germany, and I am always spoilt for good runs there: trails through the nearby woods and countryside, running along the Rhine, the local parkrun or up and down the big hill they at the top of #ukrunchat
Lovely morning out at @Wimpoleparkrun. One of the parkrunners, who also had a hand in setting up the parkrun, celebrated their 500th parkrun today - biscuits and cakes all round! #loveparkrun#ukrunchat#running
@wingchun_dave Is there any mandatory kit, what’s the course like and are there many aid stations?
If it were relatively flat with several aid stations and no-where remote, I’d be tempted to go for a smaller pack/belt, but if you need to be more self-reliant then I think 5L or 10L would work
@wingchun_dave I feel for you - recently ran my first ultra and picking kit was the thing that stressed me the most.
I ran in a t-shirt so can’t advise on that point, but the Decathlon 10L pack was comfy, very good value and the right size for what I had to take (jacket, head torches, blanket)
