@DetroitPodcast The Bears announced it with a photo of him in a Lions jersey. I replied to let them know they had a rare photo of him in that jersey as it was a rare occasion while he was here. 😂
@1KrispyToast@DetroitPodcast I’m also surprised they haven’t used Vaki in the secondary. He was primarily a safety in college and given our situation in that room and strength of our RB room, now seems to be the right time to give that a try.
I think Skubal would be happy to stay and he doesn’t want to ruin that opportunity by speaking too publicly about it. He’s trying to not burn bridges. If he answers that question it could hurt the morale in the clubhouse and would only encourage more questions to be asked of himself and the other ball players. I think he is doing the right thing with these answers.
The thing is, teams make way more money when they win, and the front office knows it. The difference between the fans and the front office is we think we see things very obviously with no consequence to those beliefs. Whereas the people in the front office are the ones committing to the deals and staking their reputations on them, and the owner is on the hook for the money if the deal has no ROI. If the owner and GM do it wrong, they a screwed. If a fans opinion is wrong, they just move on to the next opinion. I believe Chris saw how things were the second half of Miggy’s deal and he doesn’t want to be in that situation again. That’s why they paid Valdez what they did, it’s shorter term and they can recover quicker if it doesn’t work out.
