On March 3, the Moon will put on one of the night sky’s most striking displays - a total lunar eclipse, when it glows a deep red. Totality beginning at 11:04 UTC (6:04 AM EST) and ending at 12:03 UTC (7:03 AM EST).

Meet the crew of Artemis II. These four astronauts will spend nearly 10 days in deep space, helping prepare for future lunar missions and beyond.
🇺🇸 Reid Wiseman: Commander
🇺🇸 Victor Glover: Pilot
🇺🇸 Christina Koch: Mission Specialist
🇨🇦 Jeremy Hansen: Mission Specialist
Even though the Moon is constantly orbiting Earth, we always see the same side. This happens because the Moon’s rotation period matches its orbit around our planet - a phenomenon called tidal locking. The side we never see from Earth is called the far side of the Moon 🌕
The Artemis II mission is the first crewed flight around the Moon in more than 50 years 🌕🚀
Astronauts will travel beyond Earth orbit aboard the Orion spacecraft, flying around the Moon and back to Earth while testing critical systems in real deep-space conditions.

It’s World Honey Bee Day! 🐝✨ Honey bees nest in cavities where the only light comes from the hive entrance. Too much artificial light at night can keep that entrance lit 24/7, disrupting their natural day/night cycle. Let’s keep our skies (and nights) dark for the bees.
