Kudos to @ngos4justice for this critically important and timely report on the reality of the inversion/perversion of the tool of sanctions by the current US administration against legal professionals, judges, human rights organization, and a UN official: https://t.co/P7bm1FwcJZ
On the 80th anniversary of the World Court, let us all recommit to standing for the rule of law and against attacks on international judicial institutions. @ImPactJustice_ https://t.co/EzkW1CHMAd

Thank you to @asilorg for organizing.
The Court rejected NJ Transit’s claim that it is an “arm of the State” entitled to sovereign immunity under the Eleventh Amendment.
Sullivan Papain's, Brian J. Shoot, represented the appellee before the Court and played a key role in securing this victory for plaintiffs’ rights.
A #CSW70 event co-hosted by the BIC highlighted an initiative to establish an International Anti-Corruption Court (IACC), which would strive to address cases of state-level corruption. This issue would be tackled through seeking justice for those affected and in the rebuilding of societies after the fact.
This proposal articulated that there can be "clear structures based on shared, underlying values, translated into the fabric of an institution."Justice is expressed in a community’s freedom to conceive and pursue its own path of development, connecting local initiatives to international frameworks for sustainable change. Ensuring effective mechanisms to address corruption can be an essential part of advancing justice.
This initiative highlighted how a small group of committed individuals can initiate efforts to address injustice and widen the circle of collaboration around a shared cause.
An otherwise good @guardian article that sheds light on the impact of sanctions on the ICC repeats a too frequent mistake by neglecting the impact on civil society (and UN SR for OPT @FranceskAlbs). 15 individuals and orgs are currently sanctioned under Exec Order 14203.
Today, I’m releasing the City’s preliminary budget. After years of fiscal mismanagement, we’re staring at a $5.4 billion budget gap — and two paths.
One: Albany can raise taxes on the ultra-wealthy and the most profitable corporations and address the fiscal imbalance between our city and state.
The other, a last resort: balance the budget on the backs of working people using the only tools at the City's disposal.
The first path matches a structural crisis with a sustainable and fair solution. I know where I stand.
New Yorkers voted for bold change and competent leadership. We will deliver both, and we look forward to partnering with Albany to protect working New Yorkers.
Today, the ImPact Coalition on Strengthening Intl Judicial Institutions was honored to participate in PrepCom on Crimes Against Humanity treaty & welcomes states' emphasis - eg #Switzerland#Mexico#Liechtenstein#France#EU#Romania - of importance of civil society in process.
