A Hindutva mob attacked the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in the Indian city of Agartala today, where they desecrated the national flag of Bangladesh at the premises.

The Ministry of External Affairs of India condemned the incident, stating that diplomatic and consular properties should not be targeted.

The Indian government has announced increased security measures for the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi and other diplomatic missions across the country.

If India’s law enforcement agencies fail to provide security to the High Commission, they may seek assistance from the United Nations peacekeeping forces.

In that case, Bangladesh could increase its support by providing additional troops for the peacekeeping mission.
