After 27 years, and having been one of the founding pioneers of the Plastic Surgery service and Melanoma Clinic at St Georges Hospital - we say a very sad goodbye to our retiring friend and colleague, Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, Professor Barry Powell.
One of the best things about being a Plastic Surgeon is the number of colleagues from other specialities that I get to work with. Not only the pleasure of working with Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon #ShamimUmarji in our combined hand clinic this morning but a TY card too!

🗞️Read all about how surgeons at St George’s saved a man’s hand after 17 hours of surgery.
Anthony feared he would lose his hand after catching it in a chop saw. Incredibly, he’s already regained some movement with the help of our Hand Therapy team.
