I have a degree from the University of Life, a diploma from the school of hard knocks and three gold stars from the kindergarten of getting my ass kicked.
@TransLink have you looked into ways to improve communication for night bus and first bus of the day users? I end up taking a taxi for part of my early morning commute at least once every two weeks if not more due to buses not showing up and no notifications.
@TransLink been waiting for the 116 for an hour now and when one finally shows up; it drives right past the stop because it’s full. Great way to start off my weekend 🙃
@TransLink My problem is that we’re not even being notified when buses are delayed or cancelled. These are the only alerts I’ve received today so why didn’t my 2:20pm bus to Edmonds show up. I’m at stop 61973
As a regular 116 rider, I desperately hope this strike doesn’t affect my route. We already have to contend with the first bus leaving Edmonds in the morning frequently MIA with no notice and receiving text alerts hours after a bus is cancelled.
I start at 6am so there is literally no earlier bus I can take to get to work. I understand feeling underpaid and undervalued but the current attitude I receive from drivers in my daily travels doesn’t cultivate much sympathy.
Just my two cents.

This route services industrial areas where many people work and it seems as though we consistently draw the short straw with service. Between my pass and cab rides to make up for unannounced cancellations, I fork out a lot just to get to and from work each month.
Hey @TransLink it would be great if a bus is cancelled to let people know. I had to find out by phoning in to ask what happened to the 116. For a bus that only runs every half hour, it’s kind of important to know.
