Samantha Depatie is a fiddle player from North Bay, Ontario. While I was in the Yukon, she reached out to me to collaborate. When I visited North Bay (Ontario), we were finally able to make it happen. We blended her Celtic fiddle music with my Punjabi Bhangra dance on the shores of the beautiful Lake Nipissing. As we synched our arts, many birds watched us, and the energy of the lake water added an extra element to our collaboration. By combining dance and music from two cultures, our goal is to build more cross-cultural bridges and remind people that we all belong to one race called "humanity.”
