Today, AMC Entertainment announced our best first quarter results since 2019. In just 3 months, our Adjusted EBITDA was up a breathtaking $96 million year over year.
And we reaffirmed how optimistic we are about a growing industry-wide box office for the remainder of 2026.
Folks, the 2026 Box Office is on fire. This is the best Box Office run Cinema has seen since COVID & we are just getting started. I’m going to continue to reiterate the following: 2026 will be one of Cinema’s biggest years of our lives. This is such a fantastic time for Cinema.
Insane positive momentum for theatrical. 4 year labor deals, every studio with strong windows, full robust release schedule, @AmazonMGMStudio starting to roll and @ParamountPics gearing up. Even @netflix now in the full wide release theatrical business!! What a turnaround.
Netflix is officially planning its first-ever wide theatrical release for a movie.
Greta Gerwig's ‘Narnia’ will be shown in theaters globally (including IMAX) exclusively for over 45 days.
In theaters on February 12.
First wave of reviews for #TheDevilWearsPrada2 are very solid, slightly above the original. Still tracking for roughly $90m-$105m depending on walk-ups. Huge weekend incoming overall in the $175m range for the domestic box office. Massive win and 2026 is roaring! @20thcentury
I'm surprised I haven't seen many people talking about how the Trojan Horse scene from Christopher Nolan's upcoming @odysseymovie is a close copy of his stuck in the boat on the beach scene from Dunkirk. He must have something deep about being trapped inside something on a beach.
THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2 is still tracking to make $80M–$100M domestically this coming weekend, challenging both MICHAEL and PROJECT HAIL MARY records.
It’s having a fantastic pre-sales widow.
Kane Parsons says they created 30,000 square feet of liminal spaces for the ‘BACKROOMS’ movie.
Some people would end up getting lost in the sets.

Both #ProjectHailMary & #MichaelMovie are massive box office hits. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is tracking to be a huge hit as well…and we haven’t even hit the big summer releases (Nolan, Spielberg, Spider-Man, etc).
Cinema is rolling right now. It’s taken a really long time to get back to this place. But I’m unbelievably happy to see more people return to the theater- I hope it leads to longer theatrical windows & more jobs. I hope it leads to more creative projects.
2026 is going to be a huge moment for Cinema.
MICHAEL is making $3.5M-$4M this Wednesday domestically, the highest-grossing early access showings of the year.
$85M-$105M opening, it’s now surpassed PROJECT HAIL MARY pre-sales for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
