Today marks the 4th day of bus lanes in #Kigali.

Buses are moving faster, and the city is flowing better for everyone. This is a modern, organised, people-centred Kigali.

And this is only the beginning. More bus lanes and better public transport are on the way.

📌 PLEASE NOTE:

Dedicated bus lanes are now in use on four key corridors across Kigali:
1️⃣ Downtown – Remera (ku Cyamitsingi) via Rwandex and Sonatube
2️⃣ Sonatube – Nyanza ya Kicukiro
3️⃣ Downtown – Nyabugogo via City Centre Roundabout
4️⃣ Hotel Gloria – Downtown via Quartier Commercial

At Toronto City Hall, @MayorOliviaChow met with the Rwandan community and personally presented the official proclamation marking April 7, 2026 as the International Day of Reflection on the Genocide Against the Tutsi in Rwanda. 🇷🇼🇨🇦

“NOW THEREFORE I, Mayor Olivia Chow, on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim April 7, 2026, as ‘International Day of Reflection on the Genocide Against Tutsi in Rwanda.’”

The moment brought together community leaders, including Alphonse Barikage (Chair, @RCA_Toronto ), Leo Kabalisa (@IbukaCanada ), and members of the Rwandan community in Toronto.

A powerful act of recognition that honours the victims and stands with survivors of the Genocide against the Tutsi in 1994, reaffirming our shared responsibility to remember and ensure it never happens again. #Kwibuka32 #FactsOnRwanda

Dr. @CoulibalyBojana delivered the keynote address at #Kwibuka32 in Canada 🇷🇼🇨🇦

“Denial is not an opinion, it is part of the genocide process.”

Her remarks reaffirmed that the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda in 1994 is a documented and established fact, and underscored the importance of preserving historical truth, confronting genocide ideology, and resisting revisionism.

A powerful reminder that prevention begins with truth and the courage to defend it.

@OneNationRadio3 @RwandainCanada Yes the Rwandan Community in Toronto is indeed in shock. Erixon Kabera was indeed our esteemed Vice-President from 2018 to 2022, before moving to Hamilton. The void that he leaves in our heart will be hard to fill. He is truly missed for his leadership, kindness and smile.

Erixon Kabera, shown here shaking hands with Ahmed Hussen is a Canadian politician and former Minister of Immigration, was a dedicated member of the Rwandan community in Canada. His active involvement in advocacy and his work with organizations supporting refugees and immigrants highlighted some of his commitment to uplifting his community. His passing has left a void, but his legacy of service and dedication continues to inspire. We stand united in seeking justice for Erixon.
