I too am here because of the hope & dreams of my enslave ancestors. And of course, “Still I Rise” by the grace of God! 🙏🏽

The Great Migration: Crash Course Black American History #24 https://t.co/MfWUIRMr85 via @YouTube This video was a big hit in my Summer Bridge classes. Thank you @ClintSmithIII. Your book, “How the Word Is Passed” was Awesome too! @CJUHSD read & discussed it @RanchoHSCougars 👏🏽👏🏽

Juneteenth falls on Sunday, June 19, 2022, (observed on Monday) and is a federal holiday that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. The name “Juneteenth” references the date of the holiday, combining the words “June” and “nineteenth.”

[Ellis Stevens @RCHStevens]

I had a blast teaching Juneteenth to my Summer Bridge Classes. The students were amazing 👏🏽 . Thank you ⁦@KayWPierce⁩ & ⁦@RanchoHSCougars⁩ for your support. Happy Juneteenth, Happy Father’s Day & watch the U.S. Open! 🏌🏾‍♂️

As a former developer of a large district’s Local Control and Accountability Plan, I can attest to the fact that the LCAP process does not offer enough latitude and funding to support African American students. I wholeheartedly endorse this legislation. Please join me.

I @EllisCStevens was 4 years old when this happened. Wow, this is so impressive to see their commitment to civil rights in my hometown of Montgomery. And to see people of color take their civic duty of voting for granted is disappointing. @eji_org
