@RacheGabriel If we are replacing reading instruction with decoding instruction, I hope this wave of policy changes faster than previous educational legislation. We can't do this for a decade and be unsurprised by outcomes. Decoding is necessary but not sufficient.
Twenty-seven years in elementary education and more than 13 curricular resources/methodologies for reading... I do believe all children can learn to read. If we could focus more on pedagogy and a bit less on resource roulette, I think we'd increase success.
Be brave friends. Stand up for the world you believe in - for the vision of readers with choice and freedom and the integral role of libraries in our society. You matter. We matter. And we are always stronger together.
