Really good move, increasing the Sixth Form Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA) to £40 per week. The difference with England where the EMA was scrapped by the Tories years ago!
@Jeremy_Miles 👏🏼
This Tory budget has dodged the changes we desperately need.
Fails to invest in the economy, doesn’t protect our public services or support the workforce, and will worry struggling households at a time when they need reassurance.
We have had enough of Tory tinkering, we need proper change now with a @uklabour government.

Gritting lorries with ploughs have worked on mountain roads overnight, but due to heavy snow now falling mountain roads are unsafe to travel. Due to current conditions we are withdrawing snow ploughs from mountain roads and will attempt to reopen them later subject to conditions.
The Council has made Dwr Cymru/Welsh Water (DCWW) aware of this incident near Treforest. It appears that a DCWW main sewer has broken in the river. DCWW have attended the site today and are looking to take action as this appears to be a serious incident with foul sewerage.
While school capital funding has been cut over the years by successive Tory Governments in England, here in Wales we have the largest school building programme ever.
At least 39 schools closed in last three years in England due to unsafe buildings https://t.co/69D5Bso3T5
Over the last week, energy giants have announced extraordinary, record profits.
But the government won't follow Labour’s call and introduce a proper windfall tax to keep bills down.
They won't solve the cost of living crisis, because they are the cost of living crisis.
It’s yet another day of enormous profits at an energy giant, the windfalls of war, coming out of the pockets of the British people
What is outrageous is that as energy giants rake in these sums, Rishi Sunak still refuses to bring in a proper windfall tax

Local leaders are forced to waste tens of millions of pounds taking part in the government’s Hunger Games-style beauty contest for levelling up funds, and most end up getting nothing back.
It’s time to end this absurd system.
