This is what Ranked Choice Voting offers!
34% of Australians NOT AFRAID OF WASTING THEIR VOTE by choosing minor candidates who TRULY REPRESENT what the electorate wants.
This brings the major parties to the norm, and away from the extreme.
Reform the vote.
@RankTheVoteUSA
@honestelections With our current voting system, if there are three candidates and you vote for the underdog, you are effectively voting for your least favorite candidate, because you failed to vote for your favorite viable candidate. Ranked-choice solves that.
@RepAbeHamadeh Voters only have one vote with RCV. Only their first choice is counted in the first round. If there is no winner, the lowest candidate is eliminated an instant runoff is held with those voters next choice. Just like a regular runoff. No voter ever has two votes in a round.
@WesWarner11@GershonManda Do you want to ban all runoff elections, or just instant runoffs? RCV is just a way for voters to report their backup choices so that they don’t have to come back for the runoff. Why should instant runoffs be banned?
63% of Portland, OR voters preferred using #RankedChoiceVoting to vote for mayor than the old, single-choice system.
59% preferred using RCV for City Council races. https://t.co/m9Fkmn0FbX
@907Honest You only get one vote per round of voting with RCV. If your candidate is eliminated, there is another runoff round where you get your next choice, but you still only have one vote in that round.
The difference between RCV and regular runoffs is voters don’t have to come back.
Australia’s elections are coming up on Saturday. What can we learn from their use of #RankedChoiceVoting & proportional RCV?
@RHHutchinson12 speaks w/ @OrekondyVinay on how Australia’s better election system gives voters more choice & more stable government.
Alaska KEEPS #RankedChoiceVoting and open, non-partisan primaries!!
It was beyond close. 664 vote margin out of 340,000 cast. Just 0.2%.

NPR story on the #RankedChoiceVoting very bad, no good election day.
RCV123 exists to slowly but surely educate about RCV. Anyone can use RCV easy and free for any group decision - whether choosing a board of directors or a book-club book.

It will be very interesting to see which major party gets these votes during the rounds of RCV counting in Maine. It will
also show once again that major parties have nothing to fear from #rankedchoicevoting

One of the best ways to get around large-scale fear-mongering about #RankedChoiceVoting is to try it on a small-scale decision with friends or a community group.
RCV is easy to use and leads to consensus results. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Any party that's confident the majority of citizens approves of their ideas and candidates has nothing to fear and much to gain from #RankedChoiceVoting
