@averydjensen@WilliamShatner No we swear allegiance to the King of Canada. That is the title of the Monarch here. He is also the King of Australia, New Zealand as well as the United Kingdom
Iโm a centrist โ it would be challenging to prove else.
I think @JustinTrudeau has had more remarkable achievements than he's given credit for.
@cafreeland would do a marvellous job heading the UN regardless of the feelings of angry white, under-achieving males.
I admit that had @JeanCharest_ taken leadership of the PC party; I was going to vote PC next election. Go ahead, burn the centrist at the stake.
I have been a supporter of Justin Trudeau. I was Ed, who ran the HeaveSteve site on Facebook, so I like to think the 40k folks there helped unseat Harper and his brand of populist supply-side politics.
He was a much more sophisticated operator than @PierrePoilievre, who makes no effort to hide his complete embodiment of libertarianism.
I often ask supporters of Mr. Poilievre if Stephen Harper felt he had leadership qualities worth developing. Why, not once, in two complete terms, was Poillievre ever given a higher level post where he could build diplomacy skills โ groomed as a future leader?
Look at Canada now.
@PierrePoilievre has built more wedge issues than there are doors in Canada. We have witnessed the most populist, mudslinging, angry and hyperbolic onslaught in Canadian political history.
Canadians were tired, exhausted, and fed up with the pandemic. The entire world was โ we lived through a collective nightmare of difficulty.
Mr. @PierrePoilievre dangerously turns all these natural feelings into rage towards one man and those who support him. Itโs the most shameful politics Iโve ever seen in the thirty-odd years I have watched Federal politics.
I include a relatively complete list of the populist wedge issues he used. A kind of skullduggery โ undoubtedly unethical. The eagle-eyed will notice I excluded some of his most distasteful and hyperbolic issues. Even used against him, giving them more air โ is unpalatable.
Using these populist tactics, he turned Canadians against each other when we should have been coming together.
Had he used a softer hand, been honest, and given credit to a โGreat citizen, a leader that helped Canada ๐จ๐ฆ come through the pandemic in good health โ but itโs time for him to move on and hereโs whyโฆโ
Had he shared a plan of how he could build Canada back better than the Liberals, how he and the PC party were uniquely suited to ushering in a new era.
Had he left all the division, populism, and identity politics out of it and led like a great leader, on the qualities he will bring to the table โ not an endless stream of the weaknesses and mistakes his opponent has made. Heโs never had a position of power himself. He never had to make any more heavy, load-bearing decisions than that of, โShall I wear my glasses and a suit today?โ for his entire life.
Had he taken this kind of lead to become the leader of the CPC, things would be different in Canada now.
Had he stood by the rule of law instead of the โFreedom Convoy.โ
Had he left all these things out, he may have had a legitimate chance of the leadership of Canada by moral leadership alone.
I certainly pledge, without reservation, that my vote will go to the @liberal_party of Canada for as long as Mr. @PierrePoilievre is the leader of the @CPC_HQ โthat is a fact.
I hope the rest of ๐จ๐ฆ does too.

Freedom convoy cost Canada 4 Billion dollars in trade / 300 Million to Ottawa / 9 Million for Security services. This is a tremendous amount of money when we had already been punched in the dick from Covid.

To my fellow Canucks... we need to look at supporting this. The rights ANTI-LGBTTIQQ2SA bs needs to stop. This our Canada as much as it is theirs. Their is no space for hate in this country! #TaxTwitter#CanadaBusiness#OLGBCC#QBEN

Interesting read from CBC. I completely agree with Sen. Shugart. Restraint in political discourse needs to be re-established. Civility has gone out the window in recent years and has become an us vs them mentality. This needs to stop.

@HeyImAndyW@britishlibrary As a side comment the clown fish (yes Nemo) are born male and may transition to female should theneed for a breeding female arise. So... Saving Nema? Also there are over 500 species of fish that can change gender.
