Could it be that this is a very 'profitable' model for orthodox recruiters & "sourcing" companies - downplaying your value - so you use mass job boards/CV capture platforms (which our data shows is not a winning strategy to secure work)..? 🤔🤯

There's a lot of negative feelings and lack of confidence over CVs/expertise profile among our global community, due to the systemic issues and abuses in the labour market & poor education from institutions for #AltAc career development. This shows how valuable your CV really is!

The collapse of UK universities isn’t inevitable -- it’s a political choice
Other countries manage; here, government is actively burning higher education to the ground
We’re reaching the end of accessible, nationwide research & teaching — and those in power barely care
Me for @Telegraph (£) on why academics are leaving UK higher ed:
1000s of jobs & courses cut
Pensions cut
Learning politicised
Low paid, precarious work
REF & Kafkaesque bureaucracy
AI undermining teaching and research
Dependence on itnl student fees

Voice of Victim
"I asked a senior administrator what’s causing the University budget deficit
'Research & teaching,' he said, 'both lose money, not financially viable'
I said, 'Funny, then, we weren't losing money in the past when central administration was half the size' "
International student in UK university says: “It's trafficking”
- Cross-border movement by misrepresentation
- Debt
- Labour exploitation under constrained legal status
- Intermediaries extract commissions
Yes it's institutionally sanctioned trafficking

Sheffield Hallam University need £26.6m cost savings
It bet big on London with satellite campus in Brent's Cross -- now enormous & costly white elephant
Another vanity project, another (just departed) VC driven by hubris
Jobs are being cut in Sheffield

@RDC1987 This is also why we intend on offering Trauma-informed consultancy to employers/institutions. This kind of thoughtless and callous behaviour is so easily preventable, and begins to look like systemic/structural violence (if not addressed appropriately).
Sounds very similar to my own experience at NTU connected with the murder of one of my best friends in the 1st year. Very traumatic & damaging. Also in Nottingham. HE truly has become soul-less. So sorry this happened to friends & family.
Grace O'Malley-Kumar's belongings were thrown out by Nottingham University after she was murdered by paranoid schizophrenic
This isn't a failure of process -- it's a failure of humanity
Universities must set clear standards of conduct & ethics to staff

That quote in the top right? The one where our vice chancellor said that we can no longer expect a comfortable place to work and a light workload in exchange for no pay? Yeah, she actually said that.
Educational expert "Dr" Ann Limb falsified her academic credentials
21 Group has written to @LucyCavColl Cambridge asking for corrections to 'List of Fellows'
More to come out about her role in privatisation of 'City & Guilds'
