#BREAKING Supreme Court pulls up Punjab for double standard, opposing bail while stalling the trial ( Gurpreet Singh vs State of Punjab )

Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah: We cannot help but notice that on one hand state of Punjab opposes the bail but on other hand delays the trial. The court cannot shut its eyes to the double standard being adopted by the state of Punjab. The Amritsar Superintendent of police is herewith saddled with cost of Rs 50,000 in person. Let atleast 4 witnesses be examined per week and let the record of this order be placed before the trial court. If such cases are brought to notice in future similar stringent orders shall be passed.. let the order be circulated across the country. Since state has requested one chance to explain why delay was there, we list this after two weeks to reconsider the order.
