@LeafFilter the most unprofessional company. Waited all day yesterday and they never showed up to complete the job - no phone call - nothing. Do yourself a favor and use ANY other company
Who knows what the reverberations of that will be as inventory is historically low and so many people flooding the market is certain to raise rents across the market. And anyone who thinks the east side is an option hasn’t paid attention to prices here either.
Soon, unless you’re very lucky, if you need an apartment the process has become more like buying a house. They want $50 per person just to apply for pre-approval just to VIEW the apartment. Now on the west side they’re using #ellisact to displace 567 units. Who
@lisa_catara This is crazy if people are going to cry about the homeless and we know there is already a lack of affordable housing. LA RSO was meant to help but what good is a letter if there is no one to enforce it? And #LAPD s involvement is scary to say the least
Help! Anyone have any attorney friends who are familiar with rent control laws in LA? Our case isn’t about money rather the landlord chose to pursue illegal eviction instead of the legal remedy of relocation assistance. After paying a lot to the first attorney to get cont…
2/ if the laws aren’t enforced. ELA Sheriffs have jurisdiction for enforcement on the side of the landlord in my area but #LAPD is not supposed to get involved and if they do, they’re supposed to be on the renter’s side. Not so true in #BoyleHeights#rentcontrol
LA RSO renters stay on top of your situation. The courts are moving fast and appear to be sealing records so it’s hard to get accurate statistics and outcomes. #LAHD wrote our landlord a strongly worded condemnation which he just ignored. You’re not protected
Any thoughts/help would be greatly appreciated. This HAS to be happening to other people and it can’t all be about money. Our landlord refused to participate at the time and so we had to figure it out. And now he wants more…Open to any advice. Thanks!
4/ about the money for so many landlords so why do we keep making it to the front of the line in court dates? We ultimately felt coerced to sign a stipulation agreement to leave by 5/20 in exchange for a cashiers check for relocation assistance. We moved our stuff into cont…
7/ sounded rather suspicious in how they could be specifically related to my case. I’ve been told they’re understaffed so this seems like an odd use of time. But who would be able to get LAPD to speak for them like that? I’m in a duplex and not dealing with developer
6/ Oddly enough when I didn’t answer the door the officers managed to locate my car on the street and write me a ticket for expired tags. The tags were renewed early and current. Why would they do something like that exactly? They said a couple of things that cont…
6/ Shockingly we still can’t find him. We then received a sheriff’s notice to vacate in 5 days (on Thursday of last week). He also managed to involve #LAPD somehow as two officers randomly showed up at my door banging and asking for me specifically. Then oddly cont…
4/ money related for many landlords yet why does our case keep moving to the front of the line every time? We ended up signing a stipulation agreement to exchange keys for a cashiers check for relocation assistance. He was supposed to meet us for the keys but disappeared. Cont…
3/ the case dismissed. We resumed paying rent for two months and then he wanted the rent from when we hired a lawyer the first time. He then illegally filed again and we ended up in court again. This is not about money and everything we read does make it sound like it’s cont…
2/ the case dismissed we resumed paying rent for two months only for him to the demand the rent he had mailed back during the first case. We said no because we paid the attorney and he filed (illegally) again. We felt needed more time to do research and find another cont…
