A modest proposal for the future of the @CRCNA from @AleahMarsden and myself. We submit that the CRC needs a reformation. A catholic one.

Today I met with:
A young woman who is going through and has gone through too many dark valleys for someone of so few years.
A girl of few years herself, only 5, preparing for her first communion.
Though in different stages of their earthly sojourn, each will approach the table this Sunday and keep the feast.
Each of them, beloved of God, are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb. Each of them, through bread and wine, will behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
Each of them will gain strength for another step and another day on the journey.
Thanks be to God for his indescribable gifts.
When people who are new to the faith come to church, it is beautiful.
When people who have been away for a long time return to church, it is beautiful.
When people remain in the church in spite of all that life throws at them, it is beautiful.
13 years ago, on November 29, 2010, the first worship service of @christchurchdav was held.
So much to be humbled by and grateful for.
To any and all, near and far, who have been part of this community striving at faith, thank you.
The Lord is kind and merciful.
I held an even balance of skepticism and nervous anxiety, and diligently worked myself into the background planning so as to actively carve out safe space for my introverted, cynical self to find spaces to watch rather than engage. #amwriting https://t.co/bKPRcMwP0F
My daughter, after watching a scary movie: “I wonder if watching scary movies counts as cardio because my heart is racing!”
Two minutes later: “google says yes!”
A kid needed to go back with their parents in the nursery this morning and a little girl asked me where he went. “Back to church,” I said.
“This is church too,” she said.
A toddler just schooled me on my own soapbox.
"A truth beginning and ending ...signs pointing to a garden blurred by time that tells a story so soft and loud that no one hears its urgency." veritas vos liberabit #amwriting today @redbudwriters https://t.co/nFSEuVGUba
Today I met with a couple college students interested in membership/serving. Then, visited an elderly (retired ministry) couple who reflected on their experience of church changes (building relationships is a constant). You guys, I think the church is gonna be alright. #crcsynod
