Same internet, same PC, same cable. Every time someone in the house uploaded, my ping spiked to 740ms and I'd lose the wall. Speed tests never showed it, they don't measure what happens under load.

Two router rules later: 21ms worst case, 0% loss. No new hardware.

Nobody else in OCE is checking this. I do PC and router, remotely. First 3 to DM get a free network check. 📩

A client came to me last week after paying another "tweaker" 👀

His File Explorer crashed every time he clicked a folder. NVIDIA Control Panel wouldn't open. And his PC "felt worse" than before he paid.

The cause? They'd disabled the Windows Event Log service to lower his process count. That one service is what Explorer, NVIDIA's panel and half of Windows' plumbing quietly depend on. One click in a "debloat" tool, whole machine wounded 🩹

The fix was turning ONE service back on. Everything worked again instantly.

Here's the thing nobody chasing a low process count tells you: Windows 11 runs 180 to 250 processes on its own. Getting it to 60 means killing things you need. The number in Task Manager is not a score ❌

What actually matters is WHAT is running, not how many. Launchers at boot, clip recorders, overlays, two antiviruses fighting each other. His went from 27 startup programs to 14 and that's the difference you feel in a fight 🎮

If someone's tweak list starts with "disable these 40 services", close the tab 🚫

Three clients this month. Same board, same Wi-Fi card, same problem 👀

Gigabyte B650M Gaming WiFi ships with its Realtek card stuck on 2.4 GHz (the crowded band) and nothing tells you. One of them was getting 10 Mbps on an internet plan doing 500 😭
