New: In an interview for Ohta Publishing's CONTINUE, Takashi Iizuka states that he believes Sonic's popularity is currently "only halfway there", citing Sonic Team's longstanding dream of Sonic reaching the popularity of Walt Disney someday.

Alongside this assessment, he states that he plans to continue nurturing the Sonic movie series moving forward, hoping to "convey the appeal of Sonic" to even more people who have yet to play the games.
