PROSPERITY. What is it? Why do we need it, and why are we pushing back from policy that will help it grow? REBIC is taking a powerful stance in promoting the definition of prosperity to prove it is the engine that moves all of our economic opportunity forward.
Last Thursday, @southcltpartner hosted a forum on transportation infrastructure, with REBIC's own Rob Nanfelt, as a panelist, plus Matt Panik, David Hooper, & Felix Obregon. Behind the scenes, REBIC insists Charlotte can only survive with people who embrace growth, not reject it.
A NAHB Survey shows that 69% of Americans believe that easing building codes would be an effective way to make housing more affordable, a sentiment we don’t hear locally when fear dominates. Solutions require policy that works with the industry and not against it.
Canopy Gov’t Affairs Committee hosted County Chair Mark Jerrell who spoke about the County’s top priorities, encouraged REBIC members to be mindful of that focus and that leaning in to collaboration is vital to solutions. Thank you Chair Jerrell for your future-minded leadership.
These included Rep. Jeff Zenger and Rep. Mathew Winslow. REBIC also received visits from Senator Todd Johnson, NC State Auditor, Dave Boliek, and NC Commissioner of Labor, Luke Farley.
REBIC & HBAGC leaders visited with members of the NC General Assembly to make the case for promoting, supporting, & prioritizing housing affordability agendas. Several Representatives with backgrounds in the industry were on hand to present details about their ongoing efforts.
What does it mean to champion prosperity? Building a prosperous Charlotte requires leaders & residents to do the innately human thing: collaborate.
Collaboration is at the heart of REBIC’s work. We will continue to work together to champion a strong and healthy Charlotte region.
Development is the cornerstone of our society, and the County’s 85 miles of greenway trails are a prime example of how intentional design and dedicated open space can enhance lifestyles and create better economic outcomes. It’s the best of what it means to be prosperous.
New episode featuring the Director of the Raven’s School of Architecture at UNC Charlotte, @blainebrownell offers global insights and an important lesson on the invaluable nature of collaborative, forward-thinking design.
