Michael Oliver just joined an exclusive club 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Over the weekend, his Round of 16 appointment made it SIX World Cup matches — level with Arthur Ellis and Howard Webb as the most by any English referee in World Cup history.
Ellis did it across three tournaments in the 50s. Webb capped his six with the 2010 final. Oliver's done it in just two World Cups — and this tournament isn't over yet.
One more appointment and the record is his alone. 👀
