Right now, somewhere out there, @TheBrimPictures color science is on a @netflix screen, an @AppleTV screen, and an @IMAX screen. Nobody watching knows. That's the job. Now it's also in your pocket. @KoloristikaApp • Same science, smaller screen.
If you're a fan of #VFX and want to know about the making of some of your favorite sci-fi & fantasy films check out the now out-of-print CINEFEX back issues in an on-going online archive by publisher Don Shay. This was by far the most in-depth & well-respected publication on the subject of special effects in film. One PDF at the bottom of this search page has ALL the issues combined. Trust me when I say this is a TREASURE TROVE of vfx how-to's, interviews & lore--check them out, it's all FREE. https://t.co/R2CG2rHagw
Vibe coded a camera app over the weekend because my Lightroom skills are sick. Kidding. Some of us had a decade plus of color science, feature films, hit series, docs, A-list music videos, and no weekends. Still found time to make an app. Tho I didn't have to emulate
"cinematic" that was just a given, so I guess we all have our mitigating circumstances.
@koloristika.app • Nothing to emulate. The thing itself.
When you buy a film look app you are paying someone for their memory of cinema.
When you download @KoloristikaApp you are paying the people who made the memory.
Roughly the same price. Very different transaction.
