All major Pi nodes have now been upgraded to version 20.2 and are supporting protocol 20. Pi has also completed the upgrade of its Mainnet blockchain to protocol 20.

Protocol 20 provides the foundation to enable smart contract capabilities, and the rollout of smart contracts will occur gradually, prioritizing categories that align with utility-based product innovation and operations. Being a rural "farmer-Pioneer" isn't easy, but in Harmonic Realm, you have the power to reshape the map so the adventure comes to you.

To help Team Finland climb the leaderboards from home, you can strategically use Resonance Surges to attract high-yield (2.0×) nodes directly to your location. Here is how you can turn your farm into a "Pioneer Town" hotspot:

Become a Surge Magnet with Anchoring: The most powerful way to attract daily spawns is Resonant Anchoring. Placing a permanent node at your home provides a massive 1000× activity weight, making it a near-guaranteed magnet for tomorrow’s Surge nodes.

Accumulate Activity Weight: Every action you take in your local area counts. Mining (50× weight), Tuning (10×), and even Chamber Maintenance (25×) all contribute to your local "Activity Score". At 00:00 UTC every day, the Lattice spawns 50–200 new high-value nodes in the hexes with the highest scores.

Coordinate with your Trio: If all three members of Team Finland anchor nodes or participate in a Lattice Calibration (500× weight per contribution) in the same area, you create a massive "Surge hotspot" that can spawn Rare, Epic, or even Legendary nodes right at your feet.

Pro-tip for rural play: Don't forget to use Resonance Drift (the 🧲 icon on the map page)! Since you are in a sparse area, you can "summon" dormant nodes from up to 100km away. Pi Network is excited to announce that second migrations have started and will continue with a gradual rollout, opening the door for Pioneers to bring additional Pi to Mainnet and further participate in the ecosystem! While second migrations roll out, first migrations for eligible Pioneers will continue as normal.

To be eligible for migrations, Pioneers must set up Pi Wallet two-factor authentication (2FA) through the Mainnet Checklist Step 3. This may include adding a trusted email address to their accounts if not set up yet. 2FA is enforced before migrations to enhance wallet security because transfers on the blockchain are irreversible and immutable.

Second migrations will also include referral mining bonuses attributable to Referral Team members who fully passed KYC. Pioneers should therefore remind their Referral Teams to complete KYC so these bonuses can be migrated.

The Strategist’s Weekend Move:
1) Identify: Find an eligible node on your Drift map.
2) Relocate: Spend your sharePoints to "drift" that node to your current GPS location.
3) Stabilize: Once moved, you have a 7-day Grace Period to mine it and make the move permanent. ​
