A beat of silence. It took even the droid some time to consider what this meant. In time, a few tones and whistles of cautious response sounded.
``I suppose you cannot... Jedi, eh? Was that the extent of your questions? Or did you have more?``
Nakiya's smile was soft, almost apologetic. "I know. I cannot help it when the Force calls to me," she admitted truthfully while keeping a respectful distance. She meant no harm to RE. Her curiosities cannot help themselves.
At this, the droid stopped hopping about, delicately taking a step back as she glared from Nakiya's hand to the organic's face.
The response wasn't as upbeat as the prior tones had been.
``They're just... mementos... It isn't like I'm carrying a lightsaber in me.``
"I have a feeling you won't like my answer..." she kept a respectful distance, as she motioned a hand vaguely to where RE's kyber crystal power source hummed vibrantly through the Force.
RE hopped about, from side to side as she assessed Nakiya for a bit.
The droid was reminded of some old friends she'd known...
It wasn't long before the whistle-like tones of more speech came.
``Go on then. Who told you about me? And why?``
"I suppose that depends on your definition of good."
She was already intrigued about RE before, but this encounter seems determined to prod the Jedi's curiosities even further.
The little mercenary tilted her head at the comment, legs shifting about a little. Inevitably, the instrumental sound of the droid's response came through in her signature tone of speech.
{"All good things, I hope!"}
@lindseycodes pause to consider where an organic might WANT to live, then a laugh-like noise from the droid.
``Have you tried a less favourable world? I hear Tatooine's great this time of year.``
She is, of course, joking. She has no idea what Tatooine is like to live on, in truth.
@lindseycodes RE's head unit bobbed up and down a bit at Lindsey's sudden need for change. Though based on existing data, maybe there was good reason for it.
``No idea. If I need a home, I go to an old Gozanti manned entirely by droids. It's typically how I get from system to system.``
A +
@lindseycodes just as much of a friend. It was one of the reasons she kept coming back here for her work, to remain close to the organic. That and she couldn't trust just ANYONE with knowledge that she still carried Kyber crystals.
@lindseycodes unpleasant for the both of them.
Something to hide from her organic friend's already worrisome head.
``Why are you staying? Here, in this dull city? Someone of your calibre must've gotten offers for more... profitable enterprises before.``
In many ways, RE considers Lindsey +
@lindseycodes thought it was.
``I wouldn't want to take all the credit, y'know! You were present too! Even if you weren't responsible for the killing!``
@lindseycodes The droid shifted a little when she shouted, seeming to giggle a little in her own series of nonsensical droid noises. Many years of RE being what she was had, quite possibly, deteriorated her ability to realise maybe this situation wasn't as light-hearted and amusing as she +
@lindseycodes reward, in that case!``
The little droid seemed rather chipper about this notion, despite the consequences that may come with this information being found out by other parties. Perhaps RE's confidence in the two of them was simply that high.
``You have contacts, right?``
@lindseycodes The little droid seemed to chirp at that, a slight bit amused at her organic friend.
RE's head unit tilted at the notification, listening with renewed interest. She could, naturally, understand most of those curses.
``So we could admit we killed 'em and cash in on a generous +
@lindseycodes The droid hopped back onto the worksurface, gazing over at Lindsey.
``How much of the stuff in this place is unusable as a result of the EMP?``
@lindseycodes A sound that almost felt like laughter from the droid. She hopped from the worksurface to a container, scanning the room for something of interest.
``Death is a natural part of life. Especially for you organics. Chances are, it won't be the last dead body you see. Now then-``
