Great news that we now have Teclistamab, another BCMA bispecific antibody available as well as Elranatamab for myeloma patients.
But still more work to do to widen access to Pomalidomide exposed patients.

@mikejwhelan I wish there was a different button on Twitter/X as an alternative to ‘like’. I don’t like it that you’re suffering but I want you to know I’ve read your tweet and I’m thinking of you and your family.
@MarkyOatcake Sooo frustrating for you, Mark. I hope you get over Covid soon. Hope the memories of your holiday are nice thoughts to think on while you recover.

This is a very good point. Some cancer charities offer Peer Buddy schemes, for example @MyelomaUK. Patients with myeloma can ask to be paired with a trained Peer Buddy who has lived experience of the same cancer (contact the @MyelomaUK Infoline.) I love the notion of ‘doula’!
A cancer diagnosis pulls the rug right from under your feet. A cancer doula could help you get back up and make you feel like that rug could actually be a magic carpet one day. Read more in my blog below:

You are the master of promoting hope, John. Thank you so much for the daily doses that you share. I hope good things do return to you in droves for all the pockets of positivity that you create.
Being a high-hoper means you clothe yourself in a mentality with a silver lining that is stitched with optimism and pockets of positivity. This is tailored thinking. Read more in my blog:

A stranger saved my life today & has no idea. Please help me find her so I can thank her.
I’m so incredibly grateful to the woman who stopped to ask me if I was OK while sitting on someone’s big rock on their front lawn with my 2 dogs. She convinced me to call 911, she made the call, waited with me for the ambulance to arrive, then walked my dogs home while I went to the hospital by ambulance.
🚑 Her actions today saved my life. 🏥
All I know is that her name is Natalie and she lives in the @MTCouncil neighborhood in @TourismCalgary
Please retweet so I can find her and thank her.
This is such a great resource for us all to pass on to our #GP surgeries. Exciting to read of work on a diagnostic blood test for #myeloma too @bham_uni Early identification leads to better outcomes but #myeloma is notoriously difficult to spot.
Myeloma Awareness Week starts on Monday! 🧡

Thanks to everyone who shared their symptoms with us, you have made this campaign so powerful.
@kate_rackham I am so shocked to read this, Kate. Although you lived with the uninvited and uncomfortable bedfellow of cancer, your Twitter posts suggest you lived your life well and I hope your family will always be proud of you. Sending my condolences to all who knew and loved you 😢
Wouldn’t that be great! But so grateful in the meantime for all the research and for the improved treatments available to us. Thanks to the new drugs and 2 great specialists, this month I reach my 12th Myelomaversary! 🎉
Things have really changed since I was Dx in 2008. SOC was a doublet -now it’s quads. Hopefully in another 15 years it won’t be an eight drug protocol, but a 1 and done cure. #EHA2024#mmsm
