4. For working with trainee and new career teachers, I love Forster and Eperjesi’s book. Its aimed at new teachers, but I still get a lot out of it too. Its complex ideas broken down into useful, readable chapters and I love it.
Thousands of GCSE students in Gloucestershire are finding out their results today! 🧑🎓
The grades are the first to be based on regular exams since before the Covid-19 pandemic.
And these Cleeve School students are among those celebrating their grades...🥳

So proud of this - always a pleasure to work with you too @DrColinForster, although lockdown meant considerably less shared cake and chocolate this time.
Slight change of name for the 2nd edition. Now includes a section on ‘the ontology thing’ and even more excellent pictures from the brilliant @daveboybrookes. Privilege, as ever, to work with @REperjesi and thank you to @SAGEeducation for the opportunity. @UoGEducation
As it is multisystemic, it often goes undiagnosed, as it appears to be a collection of unrelated issues. 'If you can't connect the issues, think connective tissues'.
Great to see an article in the TES about Ehlers Danlos Syndromes and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders. Please read and share, to raise awareness of these conditions which are mostly invisible but can have a real impact for children in school. https://t.co/1oJYxdCiXJ
This year's annual primary partnership conference took place at Oxstalls on Friday 6th March and was a fantastic event, focusing on Teaching the Primary Curriculum, which our school partners valued very highly. More details can be found in this blog post: https://t.co/FL6MVyYBZP
What a fantastic day, working alongside fantastic colleagues, with our wonderful school partners, who are so dedicated to working with us to train the next generation of primary teachers #teachingtheprimarycurriculum
Great times being had by colleagues from our partnership schools at our annual partnership conference. We've been considering how to teach children and make their 'brains fizz' across the curriculum #teachingtheprimarycurriculum
My favourite children's book is the award-winning The Boy at the Back of The Class, by the brilliant @OnjaliRauf To find out about why I like this book, take a look at this blog post: https://t.co/s6Oi697tmo
What's your favourite, @cshadwell76 ?
Happy #WorldBookDay! Today members of our team will be sharing some of their favourite children’s books here. Join in the fun. Who will be first -@TraceyWire ?
@UoGEducation@TraceyWire For older young people, ' A kestrel for knave' by Barry Hines. Most people will remember the screen adaptation 'Kes'. Didn't do PE teachers any favours!
@DrColinForster@cshadwell76@UoGEducation I love the animated version of The Gruffallo. My favourite storybook is Can’t you Sleep Little Bear by Martin Waddell. I brings back brilliant memories of reading to my nursery children when I was an NQT in East London. Over to you @07935Jmcneil
Our Yr2 BEd Primary History Strength students have been exploring a range of primary sources at Gloucestershire Archives @GlosHeritageHub and considering how they might use them as part of a local study @histassoc #primaryhistory#inspiringcuriosity
@cshadwell76 Ah, Winnie the Pooh. Good choice. My favourite for reading aloud is The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson. Great opportunities for doing a range of creative voices for the mouse, snake, owl, fox and, of course, the Gruffalo. What’s your recommendation, @DrGParton ? @UoGEducation
Can we play too? We don't have favourites as we love all our books but especially love one of our recent purchases "The Fate of Fausto" by Oliver Jeffers. A modern fable for us all! Thank you @TraceyWire for recommending this one
I loved Winnie the Pooh as a child and I still do. Timeless
stories of a bear of very little brain and his friends filled with warmth,
charm and humour. Their adventures can’t fail to make you smile #WorldBookDay. Up next @DrColinForster https://t.co/NMBv2nR60U
