@andykirkland71@planetbyde Yup - it was a kist hoard. My map of the kists shows one to the south of Lauder and the clue for it is "a soldier once rested here and left his feet". No wonder we didn't find many of them if we kept seeing the sculptures without realising what they were. Doh!
@andykirkland71@planetbyde Yeah, we collected the kists as we walked the trail. Except we weren't very good at finding them! Perhaps we were so bad that we saw these boots and didn't realise they were where a kist was stashed. Where were the boots exactly?
@3peakscxrace
Hopefully preparation is going well, minus 35 days till the big day (our Christmas Day).

@Philippa_Perry None of us know how long we've got. Best to make the most of each day and be grateful for every one. I've already had a lot more than many.
Three riders have separately said to me this week that they're "enjoying the process" of being coached. Frankly, that pleases me as much as riders achieving their goals. I usually dislike trite sayings but it is true that the journey is as important as the destination.
Thought you might be interested in my letter published in The Guardian today. The Olympics were great, but we need to match the investment in elite sport with a major step change in funding for club and grassroots sport. https://t.co/bdfLtszHkE
Yep. Spot on. Grass roots & club level sport need a massive boost before itβs too late. Olympic success is great but now we need to turn around the decline in participation too. A step change comparable to the one elite sport got from the National Lottery. https://t.co/PJVqAFQR11

@bexrimmington@BritishCycling This is great news, Bex. Things HAVE improved for women and girls since I started cycling but there's still so much more to be done.
@ChrisSidwells Hoy winning the Keirin in London in 2012 - it really looked like he'd gone too soon and Levy was going to come back at him - but Hoy still had another gear!

@willfoth I cycled from Nottingham to Portsmouth to watch the Tour in 1994. Boardman was a hero then... and still is. So much respect for his current work.
