Run For Something and Run For Something United officially ratified a CBA.
We want to recognize our former colleagues who had the courage to start the unionization process at RFS two years ago. We are so grateful for the path you set!
🚨: Wednesday, Run For Something announced the 2nd round of layoffs in less than a year. 35% of staff will be laid off, effective Nov 30. 63% of RFS United members were affected, including every member of the organizing committee.
(Yes, we are in the middle of bargaining.)🧵
We are committed to holding RFS leadership accountable and working with them to implement measures that will better protect both our staff and the critical work of building a progressive political bench. 5/5

When our union was first recognized in December 2023, we stood proud at 27 members. In less than one year, our bargaining power has been reduced to 6 union members.
We will show up at the bargaining table in good faith to ensure our workers have the protections they need. 4/5
Last month, Run for Something laid off a fifth of its staff -14 people- a month after recognizing @RFSUnited
These individuals worked tirelessly to elect 1,000+ young progressives to state and local office across the US.

It's been just over a week since 14 of our colleagues, including 10 of our members, were laid off from Run for Something. We've raised about 30% of our fundraising goal to support these folks as they look for new opportunities.

I am shocked by @runforsomething’s decision to lay off talented operatives! They’ve played an urgent role supporting young progressive candidates — this includes me and many of my @NYCCouncil colleagues.

I stand in unwavering solidarity with @RFSUnited workers who have worked tirelessly to support progressive candidates in the face of dark money and a rising fascist movement. They deserve better.

As a member of @WUWFP, it's important to support our union fam when they're going through some of the worst of it. I donated and hope you'll consider supporting too.
In our ongoing efforts to assist those impacted by the recent layoffs, we are profoundly thankful for the love and compassion our community has shown us.
