"Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses." (Prov.10:12) This Proverb highlights the power of love to resolve conflict and promote healing.
Hi guys, i just got scammed by a travel agent and i lost $3000.😭
I really didnt want to have to do this, but i attached my ko-fi link below.
Any form of donation to support me will be very valuable.
I will share a little more detail, as well as expose the scammers in this thread
This is how Trove with help from @waleswoosh scammed investors.
Here’s the part many people are avoiding saying out loud:
wale promoted TROVE’s ICO.
People joined because a “reputable” name vouched for it.
Later, it surfaced that the post was paid ($8,000).
Ethos slashed him.
Hundreds affected.
Trust priced at $8k.
The lesson isn’t “don’t trust influencers.”
It’s simpler and darker:
In crypto, reputation is a tradeable asset.
And some people will sell it quietly.
Ask yourself who benefits before you believe anyone next time.
Now zoom out to what TROVE actually did.
The project pitched itself as a perp DEX for illiquid assets.
Pokémon cards, CS2 skins, RWAs.
Niche idea. Sounded smart. Built on Hyperliquid.
Then the red flags stacked fast:
- ICO target: $2.5M
- Actual raise: $11.5M (460% oversubscribed)
- FDV promised: ~$20M
Minutes before the ICO ended, the team edited the contract.
They extended the sale by 5 days - without warning.
At the same time, massive bets appeared on Polymarket betting on whether the ICO would end or not.
Minutes later, Trove announced the extension publicly.
One trader lost $73k trying to arbitrage that move.
Backlash followed.
The team panicked.
Extension canceled.
Apology thread posted.
They admitted they “optimized for a small group.”
Then it got worse.
- Wallets linked to Trove sold ~$10M of HYPE
- Founder denied control of the wallets
- Project abruptly pivoted from Hyperliquid to Solana
- Influencers were reportedly paid monthly “for badges”
- Discounted allocations, undisclosed promos
- Angel funds traced to a casino wallet
Finally, TGE arrives.
Instead of ~$20M FDV?
- It effectively listed under ~$1M FDV
- with roughly ~$60k liquidity.
- Hours later: ~$500k FDV.
That’s not bad luck.
That’s broken trust compounded by bad incentives.
This is why wale matters in this story.
When large accounts promote without disclosure,
retail doesn’t see “marketing.”
They see conviction.
And conviction is the most expensive asset in crypto.
When I first got into crypto, I was scammed.
Almost all my funds were stolen, and no one was there to support me.
Those days were the hardest for me in web3. But even then, I didn't give up.
I understood the NTS, I started grinding and trading spots. And I made over $20k with new web3 friends in the bull run of 2021.
At the end, I realized that money is important, but in web3, your network is your net worth.
@AriWalletQuiz A lot of people have been scammed by fake pages. After doing some solid investigation, I came across this official post where the @Fbi introduced the real agent who can help with cashing out no extra fees, no hidden purchases needed

Someone scammed me on this X and assumed I would drag him publicly or try to get his account taken down. I didn’t do any of that.
Instead, he started posting lies, claiming he helped me with work and calling me a newbie. I ignored everything. I never tweeted about him or responded to any of his posts.
Since the day he scammed me of $50, he has been tweeting about me every day falsely accusing me of scamming him. I never engaged with him once.
Now he has escalated things by tagging my account and asking people to report me so my account can be suspended.
I’ve stayed focused on building quietly while he’s making noise. now I need to protect my account and respond the right way without drama
