@Warrioramira01@Merlyn197002 There was a nationao curriculum until 1989. Teachers were literally able to do what they wanted until then. It’s different today, as is the change in health and safety law. Like comparing chalk and cheese, two very different eras.

@cix_stormrage@joel120193 English and by extension English Literature is a core subject.
I don’t disagree with you regarding looking at options and making sensible entries also. I’m just saying that the tension for schools with accountability measures means that common sense doesn’t always prevail.
@cix_stormrage@joel120193 It’s not for parents to say what subjects children will or will not do. There would be chaos if this was the approach. Unless Government accountability measures change accordingly, it’s very difficult for any mainstream school to offer that level of optionality.
@BarryNSmith79 It’s not 13/14 weeks holiday it’s 12 and it’s unpaid. The salary is spread over 12 months but our holidays are not paid. Check the T&Cs if you don’t believe me.

Pope Leo's Easter message:
"Let those who have weapons lay them down! Let those who have the power to unleash wars choose peace! Not a peace imposed by force, but through dialogue! Not with the desire to dominate others, but to encounter them!"
In the light of #Easter, let us allow ourselves to be amazed by Christ! Let us allow our hearts to be transformed by his immense love for us! Let those who have weapons lay them down! Let those who have the power to unleash wars choose peace! Not a peace imposed by force, but through dialogue! Not with the desire to dominate others, but to encounter them!
Christ is risen from the dead, and with him, we too rise to new life! This Easter proclamation embraces the mystery of our lives and the destiny of history, reaching us even in the depths of death. #Easter
@tes Lots of balance in the comments here and we were one of those November schools. I think as Senior Leaders we all thought that the intensity would be dialled down. We were fine too but it was brutal, non-stop for 48-72 hours. That’s the bit that’s still not quite right.
@tes A ban doesn’t undermine the role of schools at all. We don’t use social media in school for children to encounter the risk with support. Ban it and let us teach about it before they use it.
