In partnership with the RHA, OneAdvanced surveyed haulage operators to build the most comprehensive snapshot yet of technology adoption across the sector.

The findings show an industry grappling with manual processes, siloed systems and decisions too often made on gut feel.

* Only 6% of respondents say they have a genuine ‘single source of truth’, while 80% rely on data which is slow to compile or potentially outdated
* Just 9% of hauliers have a fully integrated technology stack
* More than a third say their TMS and WMS need significant modernisation in the next 24 months
* 76% rank DVSA compliance as their top risk – while cybersecurity sits near the bottom, a blind spot that could prove costly
* 44% of micro fleet operators make major decisions on gut feel alone, simply because reliable data isn’t available to them
* When it comes to AI, operators are pragmatic – smart document processing (59%) and predictive maintenance (54%) are the priorities
