Inoki won the title for the first time in 1978 and held it until 1989 for a combined 4,000 days. Looks pretty good on Coleman, though!

Not excited about the NJPW/NOAH press conference. Best case is a string of dream matches, worst case is the Sugiura-gun takeover all over again. If it's *not* a crossover then there's probably not much to get excited about. Won't pass judgment before it happens, though.

It's been a bit due to college work, but I'm hard at work on the next chapter - an introduction to Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2000, a short history of PRIDE and wrestlers' contributions to the birth of MMA, and why the event is important! I hope to have it up next Saturday!
