THREAD: As we wrap up the 2020-21 season, it is fair to say COVID-19 made this season different...but the passion, dedication and hard work tradition on the RHS Debate Team remained the same.

Because of that team work, it is unsurprising that this season ends in record breaking fashion. For the first time in school history, RHS Debate is sending TWO PF teams to the NSDA National Tournament. This is a success shared by every member on our team this year.

CONGRATS to Jazmyn and Rylie on being Quarterfinalists at the Blake tournament resulting in their FOURTH bid to the Tournament of Champions! They also moved up the rankings to 21st in the nation! It was also nice to have some RHS alum helping out this weekend!

Congrats to Jonny & Srishti who placed as Octafinalists at the virtual Dowling Paradigm over the weekend! This earned them a silver bid to the TOC 🎉

Fun fact: Srishti has a record of 20-3 in prelims the Dowling during her 4-year debate career. Amazing! #nofirealarmthisyear

Congrats to Jazmyn and Rylie on earning their 3rd bid to the Tournament of Champions! Here's a fun fact: at the toughest tournaments in the nation (where the more you win, the tougher your competition gets), Jazmyn and Rylie's prelim record is an astonishing 30-7!

🔥TOC BOUND🔥 Rylie and Jazmyn earned their 2nd bid at The Glenbrooks this weekend, finishing top 16 out of 178 teams from across the country! Historic showing, these two continue to make RHS history. Way to go!!

Update: they CRUSHED IT!! They won on a 3-0 decision, defeating Berkeley Prep from Florida. They are the first team in SD History to win this round robin invitational! #recordbreaking

HUGE NEWS!! It’s only October but our policy team is already out making history. Rylie & Jazmyn have been ranked top 25 in the nation!! They may be the last policy team in SD, but they are on their way to breaking every record in the books. We are so proud of these two #rhsdb8

RHS Debate started February off by competing at the Evanston Superb Owl Tournament...it was a hoot!🦉 The varsity squad traveled to the Windy City to test their knowledge against teams from around the region & had a lot of fun!
